Russell Corl

Russell, Magnum Forge’s Managing Partner, founded the company in 2008 to provide talented professionals who possess leading ERP implementation experience to the upstream energy middle market. His understanding of the upstream energy industry and his clear vision of ERP solutions and related software applications are the cornerstones of the company’s success.

Since beginning his consulting career in 1996, Russell has focused on developing strategies to ensure the effective use of IT. His background includes an in-depth understanding of accounting and finance, operations, and technology. He has led multiple IT and application projects focused on financial applications, ERP, custom development, and cross-system reporting and integration. His specialties lie in troubled ERP systems, complex system implementations, and significant financial or cost-accounting reporting issues.

Russell’s clients include major international oil companies and independent E&P companies. He has assisted most of these clients with software selection, implementation, and enhancement projects that span the entire enterprise. He has also led efforts to redesign and implement new data collection and reporting processes, which typically include technology, training, and change management.

Russell began his career in consulting by leading several large-scale SAP site implementations with Accenture. He went on to cofound and grow a leading consulting practice from the ground up, offering world-class consulting skills across multiple markets. His focus for this earlier firm was on recruiting, training processes, billing-rate structure, salary administration, and bonus programs.

Russell graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in communications and a master’s in business administration from UT’s McCombs School of Business.
